CS Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer (Traffic & Roads) with 10+ years’ experience to join our growing civil engineering team. This is a strategic hire, offering the opportunity to lead traffic, transport, and road infrastructure projects while mentoring engineers and shaping the future of our transport capability.


The Opportunity

This role combines technical authority with leadership and commercial insight. You will lead projects from feasibility through planning, detailed design, and construction, delivering high-quality traffic and road engineering solutions across public and private sector developments.


You’ll be a key figure in the Dublin team, influencing project outcomes, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the strategic growth of CS Consulting’s transport practice. For the right candidate, there is scope to progress to Company Associate.

Upcoming Projects

You will work on a wide variety of projects, including:

  • Large-scale residential developments for the Land Development Agency (LDA) and their Development Partners

  • Private residential projects (high-rise and low-rise) nationwide

  • Refurbishment of historic structures for OPW and public/private clients

  • New-build commercial offices and hotels

  • Commercial office and hotel refurbishment and fit-out projects

  • Industrial and data centre developments


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of roads, junctions, roundabouts, car parks, basement access, active travel infrastructure, and mobility schemes from feasibility through construction

  • Prepare and review Traffic and Transport Impact Assessments (TTAs/TIAs), Mobility Management Plans (MMPs), Travel Plans, and related reports for planning applications and masterplans

  • Advise directors, colleagues, and clients on parking, bicycle, EV, and shared vehicle requirements

  • Manage client relationships, stakeholder engagement, and liaise with Local Authorities, TII, and other statutory bodies on behalf of clients

  • Oversee transport and junction modelling using industry-standard tools (Picady, Arcady, Oscady, Transyt, or similar)

  • Ensure all designs comply with Irish standards, including TII publications, DMURS, and NTA guidelines

  • Prepare tender documentation, technical reports, and responses to planning conditions

  • Mentor and supervise graduate and junior engineers

  • Collaborate with civil and structural teams on integrated multidisciplinary projects


Candidate Profile

  • Honours Degree (Level 8+) in Civil or Transportation Engineering

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng MIEI) or near chartership

  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience, with at least 5 years in an Irish consultancy

  • Proven experience leading road and junction design projects from detailed design through tender and construction

  • Strong working knowledge of Irish road and traffic standards (TII, DMURS, NTA)

  • Experience leading small to medium design teams and delivering projects on time and budget

  • Proficient in AutoCAD (Civil 3D desirable) and traffic modelling software (Picady, Arcady, Oscady, Transyt, or similar)

  • Full driving licence
