CS Consulting is seeking an experienced Associate - Civil Engineering to join our Dublin-based leadership team. This is a senior technical and managerial role, offering the opportunity to lead civil infrastructure delivery on high-profile projects while contributing directly to the strategic growth of the business.


The Opportunity

As an Associate, you will take ownership of civil infrastructure design and delivery across a broad portfolio of projects. You’ll combine technical authority with commercial insight, managing projects from concept through construction and handover, while mentoring and developing engineers within the practice.


You will be entrusted with decision-making across design, programme delivery, cost control, and client management, representing CS Consulting at a senior professional level. This role is ideal for a technically strong, commercially aware engineer ready to step into a visible leadership position.


Upcoming Projects

You will work on a diverse range of technically challenging projects, including:

  • Large-scale residential developments for the Land Development Agency (LDA) and Development Partners

  • High-rise and low-rise private residential projects nationwide

  • Refurbishment of historic structures for the OPW and other public/private clients

  • New-build commercial offices and hotels

  • Fit-out and refurbishment of commercial offices and hotels

  • Industrial and data centre projects


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of all civil infrastructure on significant projects

  • Provide technical and commercial leadership across project lifecycles, from early concept through construction

  • Collaborate closely with Directors, clients, and multidisciplinary design teams

  • Mentor, coach, and develop engineers within the practice

  • Ensure compliance with Irish standards, including Uisce Éireann publications, the Greater Dublin Regional Code of Practice for Drainage Works, and Local Authority guidelines

  • Manage interactions with Local Authorities, Statutory Bodies, and Utility Providers on behalf of clients

  • Oversee site delivery including BCAR inspections, submittals, RFI responses, snagging, and project closeout

  • Exercise independent professional judgement on complex technical and commercial matters

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships


Candidate Profile

  • Masters or Honours degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Chartered Engineer (Engineers Ireland and/or ICE)

  • Minimum 10 years’ post-qualification experience in a consulting engineering environment

  • Proven leadership in delivering civil infrastructure across a broad range of project types

  • Strong conceptual, detailed design, and construction stage expertise

  • Excellent knowledge of the Irish planning system, typical planning reports, and statutory engagement

  • Proficiency in civil design software (InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, AutoCAD) and experience in coordinated BIM environments

  • High competence with Microsoft Office and project planning tools

  • Strong commercial awareness and experience managing project finances and client relationships

  • Excellent leadership, people management, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Solutions-focused, proactive, and adaptable mindset

  • Full Drivers Licence (desirable)
